OH MY LANTA!! I LOVE a good steakhouse burger! but being gluten free sometimes it's just not as good without the bun.... so I did what I do best and made it into a bowl! AND it has all the best parts of a burger!
pickels... check
ground beef.... check
sautéed onions..... check
special sauce......check
There are definitely lots of additions & substitutions you can make to make this bowl your very own! I'll add a couple options at the end.
Ingredients:
2T avocado oil (split)
2 medium sweet potatoes (peeled & diced)
salt, pepper, & cinnamon to taste (for sweet potatoes)
2 cloves of minced garlic
1 small yellow onion
1lb ground beef
3T steakhouse seasoning (check the ingredients, should be simple & clean-no sugar)
1T worchestshire sauce
1/2 a red pepper (diced)
pickles
GF french fried onions (optional)
shredded cheese (optional)
Special Sauce:
1/4 cup ranch (I used primal kitchen, vegan ranch)
1T yellow mustard
1T worschestshire sauce
1T hot sauce
1 tsp garlic powder
1 tsp onion powder
How to:
Toss sweet potatoes with 1T avocado oil, salt, pepper, & cinnamon. Pop in the air fryer at 350 or oven(375) for 20-25 minutes.
Meanwhile, sauté garlic & onions in 1T of avocado oil over medium heat, until soft and fragrant (about 8 minutes). Remove from pan and set aside.
Brown ground beef with steakhouse seasoning & worcestershire sauce.
Mix all sauce ingredients together until smooth.
To plate- place sweet potatoes on the bottom, top with ground beef mixture, place sautéed onions on top & add special sauce. Add red pepper, pickles, & french fried onions to the top.
ENJOY!!
Options:
Substitute turkey burger for the beef! Tastes just as wonderful!
Feel free to add lettuce or spinach to the bottom of the bowl to incorporate more veggies!
The sauce is wonderful but the bowl is just as good without! So if you don't have the ingredients that is A. OK.
This bowl would also be amazing topped with avocado to add in some healthy fats!
You could top with shredded cheese or if you are dairy free- add in nutritional yeast to the ground beef to get that cheese-y flavor!
